Posted on June 18, 2011Thanks for the correct answer JP. You are the winner! We had a 8 mile hike up the pictured valley where we reached the Grewingk Glacier. The water off the glacier was crystal clear and much welcomed after the long journey. Thanks for playing!
“It’s that way Lewis!” »
Posted on March 13, 2011This contest has two pictures to help you guess. The first, was taken at the start of our 17 mile hike and was inspired by our driving the entire Lewis and Clark trail. While this location was much further North, the second pic will show you our destination that specific day. While there are many specific locations this could be, all we need is an approximate guess to where we called Home that sunny evening.

Posted on January 31, 2011This picture has Alex, myself and my brother, John. The white poncho’s were part of our seat pack which had numerous other show time props. While cold, it was one of the most meaningful programs we have ever attended. There wasn’t a dry eye in the audience when a very special flag was brought out.

Posted on January 1, 2011It was a week of contrasting adventures. We had just returned from a winter camping trip in Colorado and were now surrounded by a million people on a city street. While we were cold on our camping trip, being corralled outside for 9 hours in this location was beyond what we could handle. Fortunately, the kindness of three police officers saved our adventure and turned it into one of the most magical we’ve experienced.

John is our second winner! »
Posted on November 30, 2010The answer to this months contest was Custer State Park in South Dakota. It’s just a short drive to Mr. Rushmore and a great place for a camping adventure. You’ll feel like you are back in the 50’s!
Where’s The Buffalo? »
Posted on October 31, 2010This is the beast of Colorado Football, but the picture wasn’t taken in Colorado. The location is out west and continues our theme of state park locations. A famous American General may have marched his troops through this valley. We were able to drive our GMC Jimmy down the dirt road and through the middle of the herd! If you’re needing another clue, you can reach some giant American Presidents just a short drive from here.
We Have Our First Contest Winner! »
Posted on October 31, 2010Doug says: The Colorado State Forest Headquarters and Moose Visitor Center at Gould, Colorado. I love going to the yurts up there. My Jewish men’s group is named The Dancing Moose Minyan for one of the yurts we stayed in.
That’s right Doug! The Colorado State Forest is a hidden jewel in Northern Colorado. It hosts one of the highest moose, bear and elk populations in the state. We’ve gone there for many adventures over the years and started by pulling Alex in on a sled while asleep in his car seat. Unlike Colorado’s famous 10th Mountain Division hut system where you share the huts with others, the State Forest yurts are available for one family rental and are ideal for families with younger children. The Dancing Moose Yurt is pictured below in honor of our first contest winner and the $50 REI gift card.
